Five family kitchens within ten minutes. Plastic chairs, real sambal, nothing on the tourist trail.
We don't have a list of restaurants we send guests to. We have a list of warungs we send guests to — small family kitchens, mostly run by the same matriarch for the last twenty years.
The five we love are all within ten minutes of the gate. None of them take reservations. None of them have menus in English. Order whatever the table next to you is eating, and ask for the sambal that's not on the table.
